About This Role
Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO), a Public Limited Power Distribution Company, is inviting applications for the position of Gender Specialist for the World Bank funded Electricity Distribution Efficiency Improvement Project (EDEIP). This is a project-based position with a contract duration till 30th June 2027. The selected candidate will be responsible for mainstreaming gender initiatives, promoting gender equality, and addressing gender-based violence within the organization and community-based projects.
Key Responsibilities
- • Develop and implement gender mainstreaming strategies
- • Promote gender equality initiatives across projects
- • Address gender-based violence awareness and prevention
- • Conduct gender sensitivity training and workshops
- • Coordinate with multi-sectoral community-based programs
- • Prepare reports on gender-related project outcomes
- • Provide technical expertise on gender aspects of project implementation
- • Support stakeholder engagement on gender issues
Requirements & Qualifications
- ✓ Master's Degree in Gender Studies, International Development, Social Sciences, or related disciplines (16 years of education) from a recognized university
- ✓ Minimum 3 years of post-qualification experience in gender aspects (mainstreaming, equality, gender-based violence) on similar responsible positions
- ✓ Preference for experience with public sector and multi-sectoral community-based projects
- ✓ Excellent written and oral fluency in English and Urdu
- ✓ Proficiency in Pashto is an advantage
- ✓ Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- ✓ Age limit: up to 40 years
