Exper Advice for Applicants

Landing a competitive position like this requires more than just submitting a generic resume. Because this role involves navigating international markets and handling direct B2B client acquisition, the hiring team will look for specific markers of resilience, communication power, and strategic thinking.

Here is some expert advice tailored specifically to securing the Business Development Executive role at MicroAgility APAC:

1. Optimize Your Resume for B2B Sourcing Metrics

Generic sales resumes focus on "maintaining relationships." For an international BDE role, your resume needs to focus on pipeline generation and digital literacy.

  • Highlight Lead Generation Tools: Make sure your resume explicitly mentions your proficiency with LinkedIn Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo, Hunter.io, or complex Boolean search strings. The job description places heavy emphasis on "good online searching skills."
  • Quantify Past Achievements: Instead of saying "Responsible for cold calling," write: "Conducted 50+ outbound cold calls daily to US/UK-based decision-makers, generating an average of 5 qualified leads per week."

2. Demonstrate "Night Shift Resilience" Early On

Working from 05:00 PM to 02:00 AM PKT requires strong discipline and adaptability.

  • The Expert Move: Don't wait for them to ask if you're comfortable with the hours. Bring it up proactively in your cover letter or introductory email.
  • Explain why you excel in this time slot (e.g., you prefer aligning with Western markets, you thrive in a quieter evening work environment, or you have a proven track record of managing international client time zones). This immediately alleviates a primary concern for local HR managers hiring for night shifts.

3. Ace the "Cold Call" Simulation (Interview Prep)

Almost every reputable firm hiring for a BDE position will conduct a roleplay scenario during the interview. They might hand you a pen or a software service and say, "Cold call me right now."

  • Focus on the Hook, Not the Sale: Remember, a BDE's goal on a cold call isn't to close a contract—it's to secure a follow-up meeting with a decision-maker.
  • Structure your pitch like this: 1. The Hook: Establish immediate relevance (e.g., "I noticed your team is currently scaling its IT operations...").
  • 2. The Value: State a brief, high-impact benefit.
  • 3. The Ask: End with a clear call to action (e.g., "Do you have 10 minutes next Tuesday for a brief introductory call?").

4. Perfect Your English & Voice Modulation

Since your primary targets are global clients, your communication skills will be scrutinized from the first minute of your phone screening.

  • Practice Active Listening: In sales, listening is more important than talking. During the interview, do not interrupt the interviewer. Take a one-second pause before answering to show you are processing their questions thoughtfully.
  • Speak with High Energy: On night shifts, energy can naturally dip. Practice speaking at a slightly higher energy level than usual during your interview to project enthusiasm and confidence over the phone.
