How to Prepare for This Role
The Assistant Executive Engineer (Civil) (BPS-17) position at MNS University of Agriculture Multan is a contract engineering role with two qualification routes: a Bachelor's degree (at least 2nd div.) in Civil Engineering with three years of professional experience, or a First class three-year diploma in Civil Engineering with ten years of professional experience. The selection process involves document shortlisting followed by an interview. The four areas below focus on what the committee will assess most closely.
There are two qualification routes. Option A requires a Bachelor's degree (at least 2nd division) in Civil Engineering from a recognized university or an equivalent qualification, with three years of professional experience in the relevant field. Option B requires a First class three-year diploma in Civil Engineering, with ten years of professional experience in the relevant field. In the interview, be clear about which route you are applying under and bring complete documentary evidence. For Option A, ensure your degree shows the division and the university is recognized. For Option B, ensure your diploma is classified as First class. In both cases, bring attested experience certificates from each employer, clearly showing dates, designation, and the nature of civil engineering work performed.
If applying under Option A with an equivalent qualification rather than a B.E./B.Sc. Civil Engineering degree, attach a letter from HEC or a recognized authority confirming the equivalence to a Civil Engineering degree. For Option B, attach the diploma certificate clearly showing the First class grade and the three-year duration of the program.
As Assistant Executive Engineer (Civil), you will assist in the supervision of civil works on campus including construction, maintenance, and repair of buildings, roads, drainage, and other infrastructure. The interview panel will assess your ability to read drawings, interpret specifications, prepare measurement books, check contractor work quality, and prepare or verify bills of quantities. Be ready to describe specific civil projects you supervised or contributed to: the type of structure, the scope of works, the materials used, the challenges you faced on site, and how you resolved them. Candidates with experience in institutional construction, government engineering departments, or university campus works are best positioned to demonstrate practical site competence.
If you are currently in service, apply through the proper channel and submit a NOC from your employer. Annual Confidential Reports (ACRs) for the last five years may also be required. Arrange these documents in advance as they can take time to obtain from government engineering departments.
The interview may include technical questions on civil engineering principles, construction materials, soil types, foundation selection, load calculations, and applicable building codes in Pakistan. Be ready to answer questions on estimation and costing of civil works, reading structural and architectural drawings, and the measurement and recording of works in government-style measurement books. If you hold a Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) registration, bring your registration certificate as it strengthens your technical credibility. Candidates applying under Option B (diploma with 10 years experience) should emphasize their hands-on site supervision competence and practical knowledge of civil construction standards as a substitute for the degree-level theoretical background.
Prepare a brief account of two or three civil projects where you played a direct supervision or execution role, including the type of work, approximate cost, duration, your specific duties, and outcomes. Having specific project examples ready for the interview shows practical competence that a certificate alone cannot convey.
For non-teaching positions, the University requires two complete sets (dossiers), each containing attested copies of all certificates, degrees or diplomas, testimonials, detailed marks certificates, experience certificates, and the Original Bank Draft of Rs. 3,500/-. Incomplete applications will not be entertained and applications received after the due date will not be accepted. Prepare both dossier sets well in advance of the 22nd July 2026 hard form deadline. Verify every document is properly attested and organized consistently across both sets. The online application must be submitted by 20th July 2026, and the hard form dossiers must reach the University by 22nd July 2026.
