Jhpiego, an affiliate of Johns Hopkins University USA and a global leader in improving health care for women and families, seeks a Communications Manager to raise the profile and visibility of Jhpiego and communicate its work to diverse audiences. The Communications Manager will develop a comprehensive communications strategy and documentation/dissemination plan in consultation with Senior Management Team and Program Leadership, ensuring timely information delivery for programmatic success. The position maintains Jhpiego knowledge repositories and promotes knowledge exchange within programs.
Key Responsibilities
- • Formulate and execute comprehensive communication strategy with SMT and Program Leadership
- • Develop documentation and dissemination plans aligned with organizational and donor objectives
- • Create compelling success stories, human-interest narratives, and policy briefs
- • Coordinate communication and visibility efforts with donors, government, and implementing partners
- • Develop concept notes, proposals, and donor-ready documents for funding opportunities
- • Support Country Director in new proposal development with strategy narratives
- • Enhance visibility through targeted media engagement and advocacy initiatives
- • Lead social media campaigns, press kits, and digital content development
- • Develop multimedia content including videos, infographics, and photo stories
- • Oversee knowledge management strategy and central electronic library
- • Organize and catalog knowledge assets into Jhpiego systems
- • Develop capacity-building activities for staff communication enhancement
- • Represent Jhpiego in national and provincial advocacy events
- • Coordinate public affairs and external events
Requirements
- ✓ Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or Business
- ✓ 7-8 years in communications, PR, knowledge management, marketing, or proposal development
- ✓ Experience in international development or healthcare sector
- ✓ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- ✓ Strong interpersonal and collaboration abilities
- ✓ Familiarity with communication and SBCC strategies
- ✓ Knowledge of branding and media relations
- ✓ Understanding of knowledge dissemination via web and print
- ✓ Proficiency in relevant software and communication tools
- ✓ Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
- ✓ Willingness to travel nationally to project sites

Education
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or Business. Master's degree preferred.
Experience
7-8 years of experience in communications, public relations, knowledge management, marketing, and proposal development/advocacy in international development or healthcare sector
