How to Prepare for This Role
The Computer Operator (BPS-16) post in the Office of the Deputy Commissioner District Lower Dir is reserved for Minority candidates with domicile of District Lower Dir. Recruitment is through the ETEA multi-stage process: online application, ETEA screening test, eligibility scrutiny, and interview. The four areas below outline what candidates must complete and how to prepare for the test and interview.
This post is open only to candidates who hold a domicile of District Lower Dir and belong to the Minority community. At the eligibility scrutiny stage, the appointing authority will verify both your domicile certificate and your minority status. Bring your original domicile certificate issued by the relevant authority for District Lower Dir, along with your minority community proof (such as a certificate from a local religious institution or any document recognized under applicable government rules). Your CNIC must reflect District Lower Dir as your domicile district. If there is any discrepancy between your domicile certificate and CNIC information, it may result in disqualification during scrutiny. Confirm your eligibility under both conditions before submitting your application.
Carry both your domicile certificate and minority proof in original along with attested photocopies to each stage of the process. These are the two unique eligibility conditions for this post that go beyond the general academic requirements and will be verified by the appointing authority independently.
The qualification requirement has two accepted routes. Route one: at least 2nd class Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology (BCS or BIT, 4 years) from a recognized university. Route two: at least 2nd class Bachelor Degree from a recognized university combined with a 01-year diploma in Information Technology from a recognized Board of Technical Education. Both routes require at least 2nd class (second division) standing. Bring your original degree, detailed mark sheet, and transcript to the interview. If your degree is under route two, bring both your bachelor degree transcript and your IT diploma certificate from the Board of Technical Education. Candidates with foreign degrees must provide an HEC equivalency certificate. The appointing authority will verify that the degree is from a recognized institution and that the division requirement is met.
The 2nd class (second division) requirement applies to both the Bachelor Degree and, under route two, the IT diploma. If your overall grade in either document falls below 2nd division, you do not meet the mandatory qualification threshold and will be disqualified at the scrutiny stage regardless of your ETEA test performance.
Before applying, you must complete two mandatory steps. First, create a profile on ETEA's website at www.etea.edu.pk. Second, print an E-Sahulat token from ETEA's website and get your CNIC number verified at any NADRA E-Sahulat franchise (Kiosk). Without this CNIC verification, you will not be able to apply for any post. After completing these steps, submit the online application and generate the prescribed deposit slip, which will contain your token number, project code, and personal information. Deposit the non-refundable test fee through Easypaisa app, Easypaisa agent, or at any branch of UBL Bank. Keep the original bank-stamped candidate copy of the deposit slip. Do not share it. Register using a permanent mobile number that has not been ported or converted, as ETEA communicates Roll No. Slip download notifications by SMS. The online application form will be available from 1st July 2026 and the last date is 15th July 2026.
Complete the NADRA E-Sahulat CNIC verification step as early as possible after 1st July 2026. Kiosk queues can cause delays, especially near the deadline. Do not wait until the last day to apply.
The ETEA screening test is MCQ-based and will assess your knowledge in Computer Science and Information Technology relevant to the Computer Operator role at BPS-16. Review the core topics covered in your BCS/BIT degree or IT diploma: operating systems (Windows), MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), internet and email usage, basic networking concepts, data entry and record management, file and folder management, basic troubleshooting, and database concepts. The post is in a government office environment, so expect questions on office computing tasks, government correspondence formats, and general computer proficiency. Download and print your Roll No. Slip from www.etea.edu.pk after receiving the SMS from ETEA. No separate call letter will be issued by post or courier. Carry your Roll No. Slip and original CNIC to the test center. Candidates who qualify the screening test will be called for further scrutiny and interview where they must bring originals and attested photocopies of all documents.
