Database Administrator (DBA) – Level3 BOS

About the Job

Level3 BOSS is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Database Administrator to join the MIS department. This is a full-time role based in Karachi, focused on managing and optimizing critical database systems to support high-speed business operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintenance & Configuration: Install, configure, and maintain MS SQL Server database management systems (DBMS).
• Performance Optimization: Monitor performance and implement improvements to ensure maximum efficiency and reliability.
• Data Integrity & Security: Manage access controls, ensure data integrity, and perform regular backups and disaster recovery planning.
• Troubleshooting: Resolve database issues, outages, and performance bottlenecks as they arise.
• Design & Upgrades: Design database structures/schemas and manage patches, upgrades, and data migrations.
• Collaboration: Partner with IT and development teams to optimize queries and maintain technical documentation.

Candidate Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience: 3–5 years of professional experience as a DBA or in a similar capacity.
• Technical Expertise: Strong proficiency in MS SQL Server, performance tuning, and security management.
• Tools: Familiarity with scripting (Python, PowerShell, or Bash) and database monitoring tools is highly preferred.
• Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong teamwork communication.

Preferred Skills & Certifications

• Experience with Cloud Databases (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, or Google Cloud).
• Knowledge of high availability solutions, clustering, and data replication.
• Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server Certification or Oracle DBA).
