How to Prepare for This Role
The Deputy Treasurer (BPS-18) position at MNS University of Agriculture Multan is a senior regular finance role requiring a Bachelor's degree (at least 2nd division) and seven years of relevant office experience, including at least three years in Scale-17 in a Public Sector University or Government or Semi-Government Department. The selection process involves document shortlisting followed by an interview. The four areas below cover what the selection committee will assess most closely for this university treasury role.
The most critical eligibility criterion is at least three years of experience specifically at Scale-17 in a Public Sector University or Government or Semi-Government Department, forming part of the total seven years of relevant experience. The committee will verify this closely during shortlisting. In the interview, be clear about which posts you held at Scale-17, the type of organization, the exact duration, and the nature of your finance or administrative duties at that grade. Bring experience certificates that explicitly mention your pay scale and confirm that the organization is a public sector university or government body. If your certificate omits the scale, obtain a supplementary letter from your employer specifying your grade at the time.
Prepare a clear table showing your total seven years of experience broken down by organization, designation, scale, and dates. Highlighting the Scale-17 years separately makes it immediately clear to the committee that you meet this specific sub-requirement without them having to calculate it themselves.
As Deputy Treasurer, you will assist in managing the University's day-to-day financial and treasury operations including salary disbursement, provident fund management, budget monitoring, tax deductions, pension account maintenance, and fund reconciliation. The interview panel will assess your practical knowledge of public sector finance procedures, university accounting systems, and government financial rules. Be ready to discuss how you have handled salary preparation, maintained ledger accounts, processed vendor payments under government procurement rules, and coordinated with external auditors. Candidates with experience in a university accounts office or government finance department at Scale-17 are best positioned to demonstrate the specific competencies this role demands.
If you are currently in service, apply through the proper channel with a NOC from your employer. Annual Confidential Reports (ACRs) for the last five years may also be required. Arrange these in advance as they can take considerable time to obtain from government or university finance departments.
A Bachelor's degree (at least 2nd division) from a recognized university is required. Bring attested copies of your degree, detailed marks certificate, and transcripts. The committee will verify the division and the recognition status of your institution. In the interview, be ready to explain how your academic background supports your finance career. Candidates with degrees in commerce, accounting, economics, or management sciences are well suited for this position. If your degree is in a different subject, articulate clearly how your academic training has underpinned your work in treasury and finance at Scale-17 and how it prepares you for university treasury operations at BPS-18.
If your institution uses a GPA or percentage system, attach a conversion note confirming the division equivalent so the committee can verify your academic eligibility without ambiguity at the shortlisting stage. A missing conversion note on a non-standard grading system is a common reason for avoidable delays in processing.
For non-teaching positions, the University requires two complete sets (dossiers), each containing attested copies of all certificates, degrees, testimonials, detailed marks certificates, experience certificates, and the Original Bank Draft of Rs. 3,500/-. Incomplete applications will not be entertained and applications received after the due date will not be accepted. Prepare both dossier sets well in advance of the 22nd July 2026 hard form deadline. Ensure every document is properly attested and organized consistently across both sets. The online application must be submitted by 20th July 2026, and the hard form dossiers must reach the University by 22nd July 2026.
