How to Prepare for This Role

The District Monitoring Officer (DMO) position is a contract-based role in a donor funded project with postings in Gwadar, Awaran, and Hub, Balochistan. The role requires a Master in Public Health or Masters in Social Sciences with a minimum of 3 years of monitoring and evaluation experience in public health programs, combined with excellent report writing and communication skills. Shortlisted candidates will be called for a test and/or interview. The four areas below outline what the selection panel will assess most closely.

๐Ÿ“Œ
Note: This is a re-advertisement. Applicants who submitted their documents before need not to apply again. 03 posts with separate postings at Gwadar, Awaran, and Hub. Send your complete application (CV, attested testimonials, CNIC copy, 2x photographs) to Post Box No. 385 GPO Quetta within 15 days of publication (by 9th July 2026). No TA/DA will be paid for test/interview.
1Master in Public Health or Masters in Social Sciences from an HEC Recognized University

The panel will verify your Master in Public Health (MPH) or Masters in Social Sciences from an HEC recognized university as the mandatory academic qualification. Bring your original degree, transcript, and mark sheets to the interview. If your degree is an MPH, your transcript should reflect coursework in epidemiology, health systems, monitoring and evaluation, biostatistics, and public health program management. If your degree is a Masters in Social Sciences, your transcript should show research methods, data analysis, development studies, or social policy modules. Foreign degree holders must bring their HEC equivalency certificate. Confirm your degree is from an HEC recognized institution before applying, as degrees from non-recognized institutions will result in disqualification at the scrutiny stage regardless of experience.

Tip
If your Masters is in Social Sciences, be prepared to clearly explain how your degree and experience relate to public health program monitoring. Panels for donor funded health projects may probe whether a Social Sciences degree provides sufficient grounding in health data management and M&E frameworks. Have specific examples ready from your work experience that bridge this gap.
23 Years Monitoring and Evaluation Experience in Public Health Programs

Minimum 3 years of experience specifically in monitoring and evaluation (M&E) within public health programs is a hard requirement. Your experience letters must clearly state your designation and describe your M&E functions. Be prepared to discuss the public health programs you have worked with: what indicators you tracked, how you collected and verified field data, how you designed or used M&E frameworks and data collection tools, and how you analyzed and presented findings to program managers and donors. Describe any experience with data management systems, DHIS2, HMIS, or other health information platforms. If you have worked in disease control programs such as malaria, tuberculosis, polio, or maternal and child health in Balochistan or similar remote district settings, this will be directly relevant to the posting locations of Gwadar, Awaran, and Hub.

Key Point
Experience letters must be from verifiable employers and must explicitly mention monitoring and evaluation of public health programs as the function performed. Generic program officer letters that do not describe M&E duties will be insufficient. If you have worked across multiple programs, obtain individual experience letters from each employer describing the M&E work specifically.
3Excellent Report Writing and Communication Skills

The ad specifically lists excellent report writing and communication skills as a requirement for this role, which means the panel will assess these directly. Be ready to describe the types of reports you have written: monthly progress reports, field monitoring reports, data quality assessment reports, or donor reports. If possible, bring a sample report or summary document you have authored to demonstrate your writing standard. Communication skills will be assessed through the interview itself, so be articulate and structured in your responses. The role involves district-level field monitoring in remote locations (Gwadar, Awaran, Hub), which requires clear communication with health facility staff, district health management, and program leadership. Interviewers may ask you to describe how you would write a monitoring visit report or how you would communicate data quality findings to a facility in-charge.

Tip
Prepare a brief example of a monitoring report you wrote: what program it was for, what you found during the field visit, how you structured the report, and what action was taken as a result. Concrete examples of report writing and follow-up action demonstrate both writing competence and M&E program impact in a way that general claims cannot.
4Application Package: CV, Attested Testimonials, CNIC Copy and Photographs

Prepare your application package carefully before the deadline. Include: a detailed CV highlighting your M&E experience in public health programs and your report writing work; attested copies of all educational testimonials (degrees, transcripts); a copy of your CNIC; and 2 passport size photographs. All testimonials must be attested by a gazetted officer. Send the complete package via postal mail to Post Box No. 385 GPO Quetta. The application must reach within 15 days of publication of this advertisement (by 9th July 2026). Incomplete applications and those received after the due date will not be entertained. There are 3 posts with separate postings in Gwadar, Awaran, and Hub. This is a re-advertisement, so applicants who submitted their documents before need not apply again.
