Qualifications
- DAE (Civil), Diploma, or Professional Certification in Quantity Surveying
Experience
- Minimum 05 years of relevant experience in verification of bills/claims, variation orders, quantity estimation, cost estimations, and cost/rate analysis or in a similar role

How to Prepare for This Role
A Quantity Surveyor interview at ECSP will test your practical knowledge of bill verification, quantity take-off, variation order preparation, and cost/rate analysis for infrastructure construction projects. Five years of relevant QS experience is the baseline. Come prepared to demonstrate accuracy, contractual awareness, and familiarity with measurement standards.
Bring your updated CV, attested copies of your DAE (Civil) or Quantity Surveying diploma or professional certification, CNIC, and experience certificates clearly showing 5 or more years of relevant QS work including bill verification, variation orders, quantity estimation, and cost analysis on infrastructure or construction projects.
Organize experience certificates to reflect specific QS tasks (bill checking, BoQ preparation, variation orders). Generic "site engineer" experience certificates are weaker than those that name QS-specific responsibilities.
Review Pakistan Public Works Department (PWD) schedule of rates, CSR (Composite Schedule of Rates), BoQ (Bill of Quantities) preparation, variation order procedures under infrastructure contracts, interim payment certificate (IPC) verification, and rate analysis for civil works items. Know how to measure earthworks, concrete structures, and road works.
Be ready to walk through how you verify a contractor’s interim bill: what documents you check, how you verify quantities against site measurements, and how you handle disputed items. This is the core of a consultancy QS role.
Expect questions on how you verify contractor bills, how you prepare or review variation orders, your experience with rate analysis, and how you handle quantity disputes with contractors. Be ready to explain your measurement methodology for a specific civil works item such as earthworks or concrete structures.
Prepare a clear example of a variation order you prepared or reviewed: the scope change, how you measured the additional quantities, the rate analysis, and how it was approved. This demonstrates the complete QS workflow.
Arrive with originals and attested copies of all documents. Dress formally. Show precision, contractual awareness, and attention to detail. These qualities define a strong QS in a consultancy environment.
