How to Prepare for This Role
The Electrician position at Pakistan Expo Centres has two experience tracks: candidates with DAE (Electrical) or a certificate from a recognized institution need a minimum of 3 years of relevant electrical experience, while candidates with Matric (Science) must have at least 5 years of relevant working experience on an Electrical Department position. The role is based at Lahore International Expo Centre and involves electrical maintenance in a large commercial exhibition facility. The four areas below outline what the interview panel will focus on during the selection process.
The panel will verify your qualification documents at the interview. If you hold a DAE in Electrical or a certificate from a recognized institution, bring the original certificate and mark sheets. If your qualification is Matric (Science), bring the original matric certificate. The ad gives preference to DAE (Electrical) and certificate holders, so if you hold one of these qualifications, present it prominently in your application and CV. Candidates with Matric (Science) only will need to demonstrate a stronger experience track record (5 years on an Electrical Department position) to compensate for the qualification difference. If you have attended any short courses in wiring, switchgear, or industrial electrical systems, attach those certificates as supporting documents.
If you hold a DAE (Electrical), make this the headline of your CV and application. The ad explicitly gives preference to DAE and certificate holders over Matric candidates, which means DAE applicants will be shortlisted ahead of Matric-only candidates with equivalent experience years.
The experience requirement is directly linked to your qualification and both are mandatory. For DAE (Electrical) or certificate holders: minimum 3 years of relevant working experience. For Matric (Science): minimum 5 years with relevant working experience on an Electrical Department position. Your experience letters must state your designation clearly as an electrician or electrical technician and confirm the period of employment. Be ready to describe the type of electrical work you performed: switchboard operation, cable laying and termination, motor and starter maintenance, lighting system maintenance, diesel generator operation, or UPS and transformer maintenance. Experience in a commercial, hospitality, or large institutional facility will be relevant and should be highlighted.
Experience letters must confirm that you worked in an Electrical Department role, not just that you performed occasional electrical tasks as part of a broader maintenance job. The ad specifies an Electrical Department Position as the required context for experience, so the letter must clearly reflect this designation.
The interview panel will ask technical questions about electrical fault finding, safe isolation procedures, and maintenance of electrical distribution boards, MCBs, MCCBs, and ACBs. Be prepared to describe how you handle a tripped circuit, how you test insulation resistance, and what safety precautions you follow when working on live or recently isolated equipment. The position also carries a requirement for strong organizational skills, effective interpersonal and written communication skills, and strong proficiency in MS Office. Be ready to explain how you use MS Excel or MS Word for maintenance logs, work orders, or shift handover reports. Candidates who can demonstrate that their electrical role involved record-keeping and documentation will stand out from those who only describe hands-on work.
Prepare a brief example of a fault or breakdown you resolved in a previous electrical role: what the fault was, how you diagnosed it, the steps you took to isolate and repair, and the result. Practical, case-based answers reassure technical panels far more than general statements about experience.
Download and fill the official Job Application Form from https://www.pakexcel.com/career-advertisements-current before preparing your submission. Only applications that include this completed form will be considered. Compile your full package: completed application form, bio data/CV clearly listing your electrical experience and the type of electrical department you worked in, attested copy of CNIC, and latest passport size photographs. Send via registered courier or email to hr@pakexcel.com by 9th July 2026. Incomplete submissions and those received after the deadline will not be considered. Make sure your CV lists your qualification (Matric/DAE/Certificate) and your exact years of experience clearly, as the panel will use this to confirm you meet the mandatory experience track for your qualification.
