How to Prepare for This Role
The Executive Engineer (Civil) (BPS-18) position at MNS University of Agriculture Multan is a contract role requiring a Bachelor's degree (at least 2nd division) in Civil Engineering and seven years of professional experience. The selection process involves document shortlisting followed by an interview. The four areas below focus on what the selection committee will assess most closely for this engineering leadership role at the University campus.
The position requires a Bachelor's degree (at least 2nd division) in Civil Engineering from a recognized university, or an equivalent qualification, along with seven years of professional experience. The committee will verify your degree division, the recognition of your institution, and the total years of professional engineering experience. In the interview, present a clear career account: the organizations you worked for, the nature of civil engineering projects you handled, your specific role and responsibilities, and the scale of works supervised. Experience in institutional construction, infrastructure maintenance, or civil works in government or educational settings is particularly relevant. Bring attested copies of your degree, detailed marks certificate, and all experience certificates clearly showing dates and designation.
If you are applying on the basis of an equivalent qualification rather than a B.E./B.Sc. Civil Engineering degree, attach a letter or certificate from HEC or a recognized authority confirming the equivalence of your qualification to a Civil Engineering degree. Without this, your application may be disqualified at the shortlisting stage.
As Executive Engineer (Civil) at a public university, you will oversee construction projects, maintenance of existing campus infrastructure, and supervision of ongoing civil works. The interview panel will assess your ability to manage multiple civil works simultaneously, prepare and evaluate bills of quantities, monitor contractors, ensure quality control, and comply with PPRA procurement rules for engineering works. Be ready to describe specific projects you have executed end to end: the scope, budget, timeline, challenges faced, and how you resolved them. Experience with government engineering departments, public sector organizations, or educational institutions is directly relevant and should be highlighted with measurable outcomes wherever possible.
If you are currently in service, apply through the proper channel with a NOC from your employer. Annual Confidential Reports (ACRs) for the last five years may also be required. Collect these documents well in advance as they can take considerable time to obtain from government employers.
The interview panel at a public university will test your knowledge of relevant engineering codes and standards applicable in Pakistan, including Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) regulations, building codes, structural design principles, and construction safety standards. Be prepared to answer questions on soil investigation, foundation design for institutional buildings, drainage systems, road construction, and estimation and costing of civil works. If you hold a PEC registration, bring your registration certificate as it may be a practical requirement for executing engineering works on behalf of a government university. Candidates who can demonstrate familiarity with both technical execution and administrative management of engineering departments will be at a clear advantage.
Prepare a brief portfolio of two or three major civil projects you have handled, including scope, estimated cost, duration, and your specific role. Even if not formally requested, presenting this in the interview demonstrates practical competence and sets you apart from candidates who can only describe experience verbally.
For non-teaching positions, the University requires two complete sets (dossiers), each containing attested copies of all certificates, degrees, testimonials, detailed marks certificates, experience certificates, and the Original Bank Draft of Rs. 3,500/-. Incomplete applications will not be entertained and applications received after the due date will not be accepted. Prepare both dossier sets well in advance of the 22nd July 2026 hard form deadline. Verify every document is properly attested and organized consistently across both sets. The online application must be submitted by 20th July 2026, and the hard form dossiers must reach the University by 22nd July 2026.
