About the Job
The Finance Division, Government of Pakistan, is seeking highly qualified and motivated individuals for the position of Analyst-GST/FED in the Tax Policy Office, Islamabad. This role focuses on the specialized analysis of Goods and Services Tax (GST) and Federal Excise Duty (FED) to optimize revenue collection and streamline indirect taxation policies.
Key Responsibilities
- GST/FED Analysis: Conduct comprehensive data analysis of sales tax and excise duty returns to identify revenue trends and sector-wise performance.
- Impact Assessment: Evaluate the impact of changes in GST rates, exemptions, and zero-rating regimes on different consumer and industry segments.
- Policy Research: Research international best practices in value-added tax (VAT) and excise systems to propose reforms for the Pakistani context.
- Compliance Monitoring: Analyze patterns of tax evasion or non-compliance within the GST/FED framework and suggest legal or procedural countermeasures.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with legal and corporate analysts to ensure a cohesive approach to overall tax policy implementation.
