The Independent System & Market Operator (ISMO) is playing a pivotal role in ensuring the reliable, secure, and efficient operation of Pakistan's power system and electricity market. ISMO invites applications from dynamic, qualified, and experienced professionals for the position of Chief Internal Auditor on a contract basis.

Functions & Responsibilities

• Evaluate accounting, financial, credit and other operational activities as an independent appraisal function.
• Review and appraise the soundness, adequacy and application of accounting, financial and operational controls.
• Formulate internal audit programs for audit of all aspects of financial transactions.
• Develop an effective team of competent subordinates who understand, and are able to discharge the obligations of their positions.
• Maintain liaison with the external and commercial auditors of the Company.
• Coordinate with the Audit Committee of the Board, and undertake special audits and investigations on the direction of the Board Audit Committee and the Board of Directors.
• Evaluate the design and effectiveness of compliance functions etc.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must:

• be a member of a recognized body of professional accountants, qualifying CA/CPA/ACMA/ACCA/ MBA (Finance) from a reputed local or international University/Institute.
• have minimum 20 years of post-qualification relevant experience, including at least 5 years in senior management or executive-level roles, with demonstrated expertise in auditing and risk management, designing of internal control procedures, effective compliance of financial reliability in public/private sector with understanding of governance, risks and risks controls especially in SOEs or public sector projects.
• meet Fit & Proper criteria as defined under Schedule-IV of the State-Owned Enterprises (Governance and Operations) Act, 2023.
