Forman Christian College (A Chartered University), Lahore is hiring a Junior Doctor on a temporary 12-month position at the Mercy Health Center (MHC). The Junior Doctor will work directly under MHC's Medical Doctor for his/her training, learning experience and professional development. He/She will provide medical services to students, employees and campus residents within the scope of licensing, training and credentialing. Medical services include health assessments, education, screening, disease management, referrals and advocacy. The Junior Doctor will also provide some administrative support to the medical superintendent. As MHC is operational from 8am to 10pm, the hours are subject to change based on the needs of the university and MHC.

Minimum Education: Completion of MBBS program and valid PMDC license

Minimum Experience: Completion of House Job

Skills:

• Current CPR certification
• Strong verbal and written communication skills. Good command of Urdu and English languages
• Good interpersonal skills. Able to interact with patients and medical staff in a caring and professional manner. Pleasant, tactful and courteous
• Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple competing priorities
• Experience using a computer and relevant software applications

Responsibilities

• Performing comprehensive medical assessments and implementing medical treatment and guidance per international standards of care
• Providing referrals to outside medical care, counseling services, and/or community resources as appropriate
• Emphasizing prevention and health awareness so that patients may become independent, knowledgeable and responsible health consumers
• Overseeing and mentoring Student Emergency Responders to ensure safe delivery of first aid treatment
• Providing night and weekend on-call medical guidance over the phone. A triage system is in place to screen calls.
• Available to work evenings or weekends/on call as needed.
• Assist with administrative tasks as needed
• Performing other duties and tasks assigned by the MHC Medical Doctor.

Professional Expectations

• Follow guidelines and protocols for the administration of medication, immunizations and other medical treatments
• Maintains complete and accurate documentation of medical care given to patients
• Enhance the health center's standard of quality service by maintaining a clean and safe environment for staff and patients, even if this falls outside normal job duties
• Practice standard precautions to prevent the spread of infection
• Keep patient information confidential
