Experience Required

Minimum 7 years of experience in legal practice, law firm, or government/corporate/autonomous bodies advising on international energy transactions, preferably LNG/LPG business and supply chain. Sound knowledge of Pakistani petroleum sector laws, rules, policies, and contracts. Experience in international and local arbitration cases in petroleum sector preferred.

The Directorate General of Petroleum Concessions, Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division) is seeking applications from suitable Pakistani candidates for the position of Legal Advisor to be posted in Directorate General (LGs) on contract basis:

  • Minimum 07 (seven) years of experience, gained either inhouse or private practice/ with a law firm and/or a major industrial group or in any Government/ corporate/ autonomous/ semi-autonomous bodies, advising clients on international energy transactions, preferably LNG/LPG business and supply chain.
  • Sound in-depth and practical knowledge and understanding of the legal framework in Pakistan in the Petroleum Sector preferably in LNG & LPG sector including the petroleum laws, rules, policies, relevant contracts and latest amendments in Petroleum Rules / Policies.
  • Experience in successfully dealing local and International Arbitration cases preferably of Petroleum sector before the statutory forums will be a plus.
  • Candidates should have a valid License to plead cases on behalf of the Petroleum Division in the High Courts of Pakistan.

  1. The initial period of contract will be two years, which may be extended subject to requirement and satisfactory annual performance.
  2. Maximum age will be counted from Date of Birth as per Matriculation Certificate or Equivalent, upto 15th day of the advertisement. Similarly minimum relevant experience will be counted from 1st day of relevant experience after date of announcement of issuance of Mark Sheet.
  3.
