The panel will assess your depth of experience in HVAC systems including central air conditioning, split units, chiller plants, and air handling units. Be ready to discuss: how you have managed preventive maintenance of HVAC systems, how you have diagnosed and resolved HVAC faults, and your familiarity with HVAC controls and monitoring. Prepare specific examples of HVAC maintenance challenges you have handled in previous roles.
Large retail stores in Karachi require reliable HVAC systems year-round due to the climate. Experience maintaining HVAC in a retail, commercial, or hotel environment is directly relevant. Highlight the scale of HVAC systems you have managed including tonnage, number of units, and facility size.
Be ready to discuss your experience in plumbing systems maintenance including water supply, drainage, sanitary fixtures, and water treatment. Also prepare examples of general mechanical maintenance work you have supervised: pumps, motors, conveyor systems, escalators, or elevators. The panel will want to confirm your breadth of mechanical maintenance experience across multiple systems in a commercial building environment.
Retail superstore facilities involve refrigeration systems for food storage in addition to standard mechanical systems. If you have experience with commercial refrigeration maintenance, highlight this as it is directly relevant to a grocery retail environment.
Be ready to explain how you have supervised a mechanical maintenance team: assigning work orders, monitoring progress, ensuring safety compliance, and maintaining maintenance records. Describe how you have coordinated with other facilities teams (electrical, civil, housekeeping) to resolve maintenance issues that required multi-discipline cooperation.
