How to Prepare for This Role
The Medical Officer role at Peoples Steel Mills Limited is an industrial and occupational health position at a major steel manufacturing facility in Karachi. The selection panel will assess your emergency medicine experience, industrial trauma management skills, and readiness for rotational shift work. The guide below covers the key interview preparation areas for this role.
The panel will focus heavily on your 4-year minimum experience in Emergency and Industrial Trauma. Be ready to discuss: how you have managed acute medical and surgical emergencies independently, your experience performing surgical interventions for complicated traumatic wounds, how you triaged and stabilized patients in emergency situations, and any specific industrial injury cases you have handled in a factory or manufacturing environment.
Industrial trauma at a steel mill involves specific injury types: burns, crush injuries, lacerations, eye injuries, and musculoskeletal trauma. If you have prior experience in an industrial or factory setting, prepare specific case examples from that environment. If your experience is from emergency departments, highlight cases most relevant to industrial injuries.
This role requires managing an outpatient clinic for staff, conducting employee health screenings, and providing health consultation and advisory services to employees and their families. Be ready to discuss: how you have managed a high-volume outpatient setting, your approach to occupational health screenings, how you maintained documentation of injuries and incidents, and your experience advising employees on health matters in a workplace setting.
Proper documentation of injuries and incidents is explicitly listed as a responsibility. Be ready to explain your documentation methodology: the systems you have used, how you maintained medical records, and how you reported occupational incidents to management. Strong documentation skills are essential in an industrial medical setting.
The role requires working in shifts on a rotational basis. Be ready to confirm your ability and willingness to work rotating shifts, and discuss how you have managed clinical responsibilities across different shift timings in previous roles. The role also involves EMC cleanliness audits and participation in drafting health and EMC policies. Be ready to explain your understanding of Environmental Management and Compliance (EMC) requirements in an industrial health context.
EMC cleanliness audits and health policy drafting indicate that this role has an administrative and compliance component alongside clinical duties. If you have experience drafting or reviewing workplace health policies or conducting health and safety audits, highlight this clearly in your interview.
Confirm your PMDC registration is valid before applying. Your age must be between 28 and 35 years. Apply through the Google Form at https://forms.gle/ifERoY2TbqdARujS6 or via QR Code at the Peoples Steel Mills premises in Manghopir, Karachi before 05-07-2026. For the interview, bring your original MBBS degree, PMDC registration certificate, experience letters, and CNIC. Dress professionally and be ready to discuss your ability to independently handle medical emergencies.
