How to Prepare for This Role
- This position is open exclusively to currently enrolled undergraduate students at National Skills University Islamabad in Computer Science, Information Engineering Technology, Cyber Security, or a related field. Enrollment status at NSU at the time of application is a hard eligibility requirement. External candidates and students from other universities are not eligible regardless of their qualifications. Include your NSU student ID or an enrollment certificate with your application to confirm eligibility.
- MS Excel and Google Forms are listed as preferred tools. Demonstrate your proficiency in these by including any coursework, assignments, or personal projects where you used Excel for data organisation or analysis, or Google Forms for data collection or surveys. In a research project context, these tools are used for fieldwork data collection, tabulation, and initial analysis, so showing you have used them in structured tasks rather than just basic use is an advantage.
- Python programming is listed as a preferred skill. Even if your Python experience is from coursework only, prepare to describe what you have done: data analysis scripts, automation, or basic ML experiments using libraries like pandas, NumPy, or scikit-learn. Relate your Python experience to data collection and processing tasks, as that is the primary use case in this research project.
- Knowledge of ANN models and their practical implementation is specifically listed as a preferred qualification. Review the basics of Artificial Neural Networks: what they are, how they are trained, and how they are applied to classification or forecasting tasks. If you have completed a project or lab exercise involving ANN, even using a framework like TensorFlow or Keras, describe it briefly in your CV. This directly aligns with the project's ANN-based skills shortage forecasting component.
- Web and mobile app development skills are preferred. If you have built any web pages, simple apps, or portals using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Flutter, or any similar technology, list them with brief descriptions. The project may require building a placement portal or data dashboard, so UI and app development capability would directly support the project's pilot implementation phase.
- The application subject must follow the format: Application for Undergraduate Student, NRPU Project No. 165444-43. Submit your CV, CNIC copy, NSU enrollment certificate, and any relevant academic or project documents to saud.nrpu@nsu.edu.pk before 30 June 2026. Two positions are available, so both shortlisting batches will review applications in order of receipt and relevance of skills to the project scope.
