PSW is hiring a Senior Systems Engineer II (Job Code: TM 030) based in Karachi, Sindh. This is a full-time, on-site role within the Technology Management department. The Senior Systems Engineer will be responsible for a broad infrastructure mandate covering Linux server administration, virtualization, SAN storage, Active Directory, disaster recovery, firewall security, and datacenter operations across PSW's enterprise environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine business needs and assess existing infrastructure and systems for improvements
• Manage installation, configuration, and ongoing monitoring of the Virtualization infrastructure to ensure optimal performance
• Troubleshoot, provide technical support and resolve issues within the Virtualization environment, promoting a proactive approach to system health
• Oversee the installation, configuration and administration of Linux servers, ensuring system stability and security
• Manage and deploy SAN switches, including installation and configuration to ensure smooth operations. Implement and monitor vulnerability scanners to maintain system security and compliance
• Manage the Active Directory environment, including user accounts, groups, Group Policies, domain controllers and replication, and other related services to ensure secure and efficient identity and access management with security best practices
• Prepare and maintain the disaster recovery (DR) site, including server rack mounting, installation, and configuration. Datacenter monitoring, new servers Rack mount, installation, and management
• Install and maintain the health and capacity of storage systems (SAN), with an emphasis on security and compliance. Administer Linux servers, including services like NFS, FTP, HTTPD, CIFS, and NTP
• Configure and manage Linux SAMBA Server
• Manage updates and patch management of complete infrastructure
• Manage Linux Services and Processes
• Securing Linux with Firewall (Firewall-D, Iptables and UFW)
• Manage Linux Storage and Partitions
• Configure and manage PVs, VGs and LVMs
• Auto schedule Linux Jobs with Crontab and bash scripting
• Configure Linux send mail and postfix MTA Server with SMTP relays along with monitoring SMTP logs and other smtp issues
• Configure Nginx as a reverse proxy, including Nginx Cluster
• Deployment for system maintenance as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or a related field
• Certified Linux Administrator, or other relevant certifications are a plus
• 4-5 years of experience in servers, storage, and virtualization with a strong understanding of Virtualization solutions, Windows Server, Linux Ubuntu, and VEEAM for backup and recovery
• Strong technical skills in server deployment, storage management, and virtualization technologies
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with an ability to work effectively with diverse teams
• Analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to ongoing learning and development
• Strong organizational and time management abilities, with attention to detail
