PSW operates a unified digital platform that connects traders, customs authorities, shipping lines, and regulatory agencies to streamline cross-border trade across Pakistan. The Division Management function drives the alignment between business operations and technology delivery, ensuring that business requirements are accurately translated into scalable system solutions.

PSW is hiring a Sr. Business Analyst II (Job Code: DM 003) with positions available in both Karachi, Sindh and Islamabad, Islamabad Capital Territory. This is a full-time, on-site role within the Division Management department. The Sr. Business Analyst will gather and document user requirements, develop UML diagrams and business requirement documents, liaise between business users and development teams, coordinate UAT and end user training, drive business process improvement, and maintain project schedules.

Responsibilities

• Confer with Business Application Users to identify and gather user requirements and develop logical and physical specifications
• Create detailed functional requirements and development artifacts such as workflow diagrams, business rules, data mapping spreadsheets, and wire-frames
• Develop UML diagrams such as Use Case, Activity, and Sequence Diagrams
• Develop Business Requirement Documents (BRS) and Software Requirement Specifications (SRS)
• Get requirements reviewed and approved by the business users
• Act as a liaison between business users and the development team
• Coordinate with developers and QA team to explain system requirements
• Manage change management, end user training, and UAT for smooth business process transition
• Ensure continuous IT services delivery to support day-to-day business operations
• Ensure continuous business process improvement through capturing and analyzing business data
• Prepare, monitor, and maintain schedule of assigned projects
• Keep aware of industry trends and technological advancements to propose innovative solutions

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• 3 to 4 years of experience in business analysis or a related field
• Experience in software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies and techniques
• Experience in working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to elicit and document requirements
• Proficiency in business analysis tools and techniques such as process mapping, data modeling, and use case development
• Familiarity with project management tools and techniques
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with stakeholders and cross-functional teams
• Experience in conducting user acceptance testing (UAT) and facilitating user training sessions
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and tools
• Knowledge of database design and SQL
• Knowledge of software integrations and APIs
• Ability to develop business cases and roadmaps for the adoption of emerging technologies

How to Prepare for This Role

1. Sr. Business Analyst II at PSW requires 3 to 4 years of business analysis experience within a technology or software delivery environment. Interviewers will assess your ability to gather requirements from business users, translate them into technical specifications, and manage the full documentation lifecycle from BRS through SRS. Prepare to walk through a project where you independently produced these documents and describe how you managed review and approval cycles with business stakeholders.
2. UML diagramming is an explicit requirement. Be ready to demonstrate hands-on proficiency with Use Case, Activity, and Sequence Diagrams. Prepare examples of diagrams you have produced in previous roles and be ready to explain the decisions behind how you modelled specific business processes. Interviewers at this level expect you to draw or describe a diagram live, not just claim familiarity.
3. Requirements elicitation from cross-functional teams and stakeholders is a core competency. Prepare examples of workshops, interviews, or structured sessions you have conducted to gather requirements, including how you handled conflicting stakeholder inputs, ambiguous scope, or changing business priorities mid-project. Your ability to elicit, document, and get sign-off on requirements under real-world constraints will be directly assessed.
4. UAT coordination and end user training are listed responsibilities. Prepare examples of UAT cycles you have managed, including how you prepared test cases from business requirements, coordinated user sessions, tracked defects, and obtained formal sign-off. Similarly, describe any user training sessions or materials you delivered during system go-live or process transition activities.
5. SQL, database design, software integrations, and API knowledge are listed requirements. While this is not a development role, you are expected to have working knowledge in these areas to bridge the gap between business and technical teams. Prepare examples of how you have used SQL for requirement validation or data analysis, and how you have documented integration requirements or API specifications in previous projects.
6. Agile methodology familiarity, project scheduling, and business process improvement are additional areas to prepare. Be ready to describe how you have worked in agile sprints as a BA, maintained project schedules, and contributed to identifying and documenting business process improvements through data capture and analysis.
