About the Job
Saidu Medical College (SMC) & Saidu Teaching Hospital (STH), a Medical Teaching Institution (MTI) established under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Medical Teaching Institution Reforms Act 2015 (as amended), is inviting applications from eligible candidates for the position of Medical Director on a contractual basis under the provisions of the MTI Act, 2015 (as amended) and the applicable Rules and Regulations of the institution.
The Medical Director provides clinical leadership across all aspects of the hospital's function. The position requires a medical professional with management and administrative experience, a proven record of clinical excellence, and at least three years of experience leading a major clinical unit. The Medical Director will receive a faculty appointment at the appropriate level and the position permits approximately 20% of time for scholarly activities or clinical practice in the appropriate specialty. The tenure for this position shall be up to five (5) years, subject to the terms and conditions as prescribed under the MTI Act, Rules, and Regulations.

Qualification & Experience
A medical degree recognized by PMDC, with management and administrative experience. The candidates with higher qualifications such as FCPS, FRCS, MD, MS, or equivalent will be preferred. The candidate must have experience in senior management positions in tertiary care/teaching hospitals, a proven record of clinical excellence, and at least three years experience leading a major clinical unit in any recognized specialty.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring clinical excellence in all aspects of hospital function.
- Auditing clinical practice.
- Developing new clinical programs.
- Developing the annual clinical budget.
- Report to the Board of Governors.
- Receive a faculty appointment at the appropriate level.
- The position permits approx. 20% of time for scholarly activities or clinical practice in the appropriate specialty.

- The service of the incumbent will be governed by the Medical Teaching Institution Reform Act 2015 and its amendments made, Rules and Regulations of the Institution.
- In case of selection, the candidate shall resign from Previous Job.
- The Institution reserves the right to cancel the recruitment process at any stage.
- The prescribed quota for disabilities and minorities will be maintained as per rule.
- Any attempt to approach or influence the selection committee will automatically disqualify the applicant.
- The decision of the selection committee will be final subject to approval by the Board of Governors.
- Only shortlisted candidates will be called for Test/Interview.
- After a final decision no correspondence regarding the process will be entertained.
