What software tools do you use for transportation design and analysis?

I am proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D for road and alignment design, VISSIM and TRANSYT for traffic simulation, HEC-RAS for drainage analysis, and MS Project for scheduling. I also use AASHTO design standards and pavement design software such as DARWin-ME for flexible and rigid pavement analysis.

It validates my professional competence and ensures all designs I approve meet national engineering standards and legal requirements.

How do you manage consultancy projects from inception to completion?

I structure projects in phases: feasibility, preliminary design, detailed design, tender, and construction supervision. I assign responsibilities within the team, set milestones, and track progress against the baseline schedule. I maintain regular client communication through progress meetings and reports, and ensure deliverables meet scope, quality, and timeline requirements.

Describe your experience with highway geometric design.

I have designed horizontal and vertical alignments for national and provincial highways, applying AASHTO and NHA design standards. This includes design speed selection, sight distance calculations, superelevation and widening on curves, cross-section design, and interchange geometry. I ensure designs balance safety, cost, and constructability within the given terrain.

How do you ensure quality control in transportation engineering projects?

I implement a project-specific quality management plan that covers design review checklists, drawing and report approval workflows, and field inspection protocols during construction. All designs undergo internal peer review before submission to the client.
