Expert Advice
1. Showcase ITIL and Service Management Alignment
WFP explicitly highlights requirements for analyzing service management results and identifying workflow improvements. If a candidate holds an ITIL certification or has managed a helpdesk ticket pipeline using enterprise platforms (such as ServiceNow or Jira Service Desk), they should ensure their resume explicitly details the ticket volume handled, SLA resolution rates, and system improvements implemented.
2. Highlight Field-Level Telecommunications Capability
Operating at Level 6 in locations like Quetta, Peshawar, or Muzaffarabad involves maintaining connectivity under challenging conditions. Candidates should detail any experience with VSAT systems, VHF/HF radio networks, satellite communications, and localized Cisco network routing. Demonstrating a balance of standard software support and rugged field-hardware maintenance provides a significant edge.
3. Emphasize Procurement and Budgetary Contributions
This role involves participating in the country office procurement and budgeting processes. Applicants should highlight technical evaluation skills on their CV such as writing technical specifications for IT hardware procurement, reviewing vendor bids, or auditing vendor equipment delivery against strict institutional standards.
4. Structure Bullet Points via the STAR Methodology
When filling out the Workday application profile, candidates should format past project achievements using the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result). For example, state clearly how running a specific network monitoring tool reduced system downtime or how a newly drafted end-user guide minimized routine helpdesk queries.
