About the Job

The Regional Directorate Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) Sindh is inviting applications from energetic and experienced Advocates for the position of Special Public Prosecutor for Assets/AMLA 2010, to be engaged purely on a contract basis with a monthly retainer of Rs 125,000/-.

The selected advocate will represent ANF Sindh in assets and financial proceedings before Special Courts (CNS), Anti-Smuggling Courts, trial courts, and Tribunals in Karachi. The role specifically covers cases arising under the Anti-Money Laundering Act 2010, CNSA 1997 (assets and financial cases), and the Prevention of Smuggling Act 1977. The incumbent will also be required to render legal opinion to the department on relevant matters.

This position is well suited for legal professionals with hands-on experience in assets, financial investigation, and anti-money laundering cases, particularly those who have served in Law Enforcement Agencies or dealt with AML and financial crime litigation.

Job Details

Duties and Responsibilities

Special Public Prosecutor shall appear and conduct proceedings under the provisions of Anti-Money Laundering Act 2010, CNSA 1997 (assets and financial cases), Prevention of smuggling Act 1977 or any other law for the time being enforced before Special Courts (CNS), Anti-Smuggling courts, any other trial courts, Tribunals, on behalf of ANF as and when required and rendered legal opinion to the department and shall not appear as defense Counsel against ANF in any case/appeal/application.

Eligibility Criteria

1. The candidate shall be person who citizen of Pakistan.
2. Candidate shall be enrolled as an advocate High Court having valid license; however, preference will be given to advocate having 05 years of experience in practice as an advocate High Court.
3. The candidate shall be a practicing advocate of High Court having valid license with experience in legal matters preferably dealing with CNS Act 1997, Drug/Criminal/Assets cases, PSA 1977, AMLA 2010 Cases and service matters.
4. Special preference will be given for this post to the advocates who have served as special public prosecutor/Law Officer in Law Enforcement Agencies or departments dealing assets and financial investigation and Anti-Money laundering case.
5. The candidate must have knowledge regarding all types of drugs, narcotics, NPS, controlled/illicit substances (included in UN conventions/PCB Schedules), and Assets and money laundering cases in view of CNSA 1997, Prevention of smuggling Act 1977 and AMLA 2010 with perspective of drafting, prosecution, evidence etc.
6. The Advocates who served previously with the department, if during such period their contract was terminated or they resigned are not eligible to apply for the post.
7. The candidate shall neither have been guilty of misconduct during the professional career nor convicted for the offence of moral turpitude or dismissed from Government Service or declared as insolvent.
8. The preference will also be given to the candidates having permanent residence and office at Karachi.
