How to Prepare for This Role

The Deputy Director (P&D) (BPS-18) position at MNS University of Agriculture Multan is a regular administrative role requiring a Master's degree preferably in Agriculture or its Allied Discipline or Management Sciences, and 07 years of Planning and Development experience in government or educational institutions. The selection process involves document shortlisting followed by an interview. The four areas below focus on what the selection committee will assess most closely.

๐Ÿ“Œ
Note: Apply online at www.mnsuam.edu.pk before 20th July 2026. Hard form deadline is 22nd July 2026. Submit two dossier sets for non-teaching positions with Original Bank Draft of Rs. 3,500/- in favour of Treasurer, MNSUAM. For queries contact hr@mnsuam.edu.pk or 061-9201541.
1Planning and Development Experience Documentation

The position requires 07 years of experience in Planning and Development, preparation of schemes, or in Government, Semi-Government, or educational institutions. This experience is the primary criterion the committee will evaluate. In the interview, present a clear account of your P&D career: the organizations you served, the development schemes you prepared or evaluated, the budgets you managed, and the outcomes achieved. Be specific about your involvement in scheme preparation, PC-I or PC-II documents, ADP planning, or HEC development grant applications. Experience in a university planning and development directorate or a government P&D department is highly relevant. Bring attested experience certificates from each organization, clearly showing dates, designation, and nature of P&D duties.

Tip
If your experience spans multiple organizations, prepare a consolidated summary showing total years in P&D-related work. Attach relevant scheme documents or project summaries as supplementary evidence of your planning work. This helps the committee quickly assess the depth and quality of your experience beyond what a certificate alone can show.
2University Development Planning and HEC Scheme Knowledge

As Deputy Director (P&D) at an agricultural university, your core function will be preparing and managing development schemes, coordinating with HEC for development grants, and overseeing the Annual Development Programme for the University. The interview panel will assess your understanding of HEC development funding mechanisms, PC-I documentation requirements, and the process for getting development schemes approved at provincial and federal levels. Be ready to describe how you would prioritize university infrastructure, laboratory, and research facility development needs, prepare cost estimates, and coordinate with the Finance and Engineering departments for scheme execution. Familiarity with the P&D processes of Punjab government or any HEC-funded university is a strong advantage.

Key Point
If you are currently in service, apply through the proper channel with a NOC from your employer. Annual Confidential Reports (ACRs) for the last five years may also be required. Arrange these documents well in advance as they can take time to obtain from government departments.
3Academic Qualification and Subject Relevance

The ad specifies a Master's degree preferably in Agriculture or its Allied Discipline or in Management Sciences. Bring attested copies of your degree, detailed marks certificate, and transcripts. In the interview, explain how your academic background in agriculture, agricultural economics, rural development, or management sciences informs your ability to manage P&D functions at an agricultural university. Candidates with degrees in agriculture-related disciplines are preferred and should articulate how that academic grounding helps them identify and prioritize development needs specific to an agricultural university environment. Candidates with management sciences degrees should emphasize their practical P&D and project management experience to compensate for the non-agriculture background.

Tip
MNSUAM is an agricultural university. Even if your degree is in Management Sciences, frame your P&D experience in terms of agricultural infrastructure, research facility development, or rural education programs to demonstrate alignment with the University's mission and priorities.
4Dossier Preparation for Non-Teaching Position

For non-teaching positions, the University requires two complete sets (dossiers), each containing attested copies of all certificates, degrees, testimonials, detailed marks certificates, experience certificates, and the Original Bank Draft of Rs. 3,500/-. Incomplete applications will not be entertained and applications received after the due date will not be accepted. Prepare both dossier sets well in advance of the 22nd July 2026 hard form deadline. Verify every document is properly attested and organized consistently across both sets. The online application must be submitted by 20th July 2026, and the hard form dossiers must reach the University by 22nd July 2026.
