PSW is building a unified digital trade platform that connects traders, customs authorities, shipping lines, and regulatory agencies across Pakistan. The front-end engineering function is central to PSW's product delivery, responsible for building the user-facing interfaces and components that traders and government users interact with daily on a national scale.

PSW is hiring a Sr. Software Engineer III (Front-end) (Job Code: SP 006) based in Karachi, Sindh. This is a full-time, on-site role within the Innovation & Special Projects department. The Sr. Software Engineer will collaborate with the Development Lead on software design, architectural patterns, and technical implementations, build modern React-based front-end applications, work across the full front-end stack including SQL querying, and contribute to unit and functional testing and documentation processes.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Development Lead on software design, architectural patterns, and technical implementations
• Apply strong understanding of modern web development using the React framework and related standards, including Node.js, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript
• Work hands-on with SQL and database querying as part of the development workflow
• Utilise hands-on experience with React-based tools, frameworks, and libraries such as ReactJS, Vue.js, Kendo React, React Router, React Query, and React Hook Form
• Apply experience with micro-frontend architecture where applicable (preferred but not required)
• Contribute to unit and functional testing, integration, and documentation processes using tools like Jest and React Testing Library

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• 5 to 6 years of relevant experience with strong fundamentals in software engineering including OO/AD, design patterns, data structures, and algorithms
• Hands-on experience with React and Redux for front-end development
• Proficiency in using Material UI or similar UI/UX libraries
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, CSS, and SCSS
• Experience with Git or other version control systems
