About the Job


The Punjab Transport Company (PTC) is seeking a highly organized and qualified professional for the role of Company Secretary. This position is offered on a 3-year contract basis and is critical for ensuring the company adheres to statutory and regulatory requirements while maintaining high standards of corporate governance. As the primary liaison for the Board, you will facilitate transparent communication and ensure that all board-level actions comply with the legal framework of the Punjab Government.


Key Responsibilities


  • Governance Oversight: Ensuring the company operates within the legal and financial frameworks set by regulatory bodies.
  • Board Coordination: Managing board meetings, preparing comprehensive agendas, and maintaining official minutes and records.
  • Statutory Compliance: Monitoring and implementing changes in legislation to ensure company policies remain current and legally sound.
  • Corporate Liaison: Acting as a bridge between the board, shareholders, and government entities.


Qualifications & Experience


  • Professional Certification: Member of a recognized body of professional accountants OR a member of a recognized body of corporate or chartered secretaries.
  • OR Academic Qualification: A person holding a master's degree in business administration or commerce OR being a law graduate.
  • Professional Experience: In general, at least 10 years’ relevant experience.
  • Public Sector Preference: Preference will be given to candidates with 5 years of experience in the public sector.
  • Age Limit: Age not more than 50 years.

  • Submission Deadline: Applications must be submitted by 25.05.2026. No applications will be entertained after this date.
  • Application Fee: A non-refundable processing fee of Rs. 800/- is required. Payment must be made at the Bank of Punjab, Account No. 6580003250800016 (Punjab Transport Company). A scanned copy of the paid challan must be uploaded with the application.
  • Documentation: It is mandatory to upload transcripts and degrees. PTC will not allow resubmissions if documents are incorrect or missing.
  • Government Service: Current government employees must apply through the proper channel and present a No Objection Certificate (NOC) at the time of the interview.
  • Experience Criteria: Experience as part-time, honorary, self-employed, apprentice, or intern will not be counted.
  • Verification: Shortlisted candidates must bring original documents and a driving license against the relevant post (if applicable) to the interview. Selected candidates will require HEC-verified degrees.
  • PTC Authority: PTC reserves the right to accept/reject any application or cancel the recruitment process at any stage.


Expert Advice for Applicants: For the Company Secretary role, the selection committee places high value on "Relevant Experience." If you are a Law Graduate, ensure your application highlights your experience with the Companies Act and Public Sector Governance Rules. Since there is a preference for 5 years of public sector experience, clearly delineate your work in government-owned or autonomous bodies. Ensure your bank deposit slip (Rs. 800/-) is for the specific PTC account mentioned, as using an incorrect payment method like a Bank Draft or Online Transfer will lead to immediate rejection.
