About the Job

The National Institute of Intelligence & Security Studies (NIISS) at Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad is inviting applications from skilled individuals for the post of Computer Operator / WPO (Word Processing Operator) โ€” PPS-4 under the PSDP Project "Establishment of National Institute of Intelligence & Security Studies (NIISS) at Quaid-i-Azam University Islamabad."

This position is part of the Project Management Unit (PMU) and plays an important role in managing day-to-day digital documentation, data entry, and office computing functions. The role is offered on a contract basis under the Project Pay Scale (PPS-4) applicable to PSDP-funded project staff, based at Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad.

Qualification

  • Matric (Secondary School Certificate) from a recognized board
  • A typing speed of 30 Words Per Minute (WPM)
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Experience

  • Practical experience in computer operation, data entry, and word processing
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is mandatory
  • Prior experience in a government office or reputed organization is an advantage
  • Demonstrated typing speed of at least 30 WPM (verified through typing test at time of interview)

Key Responsibilities

  • Type, format, and process official letters, reports, minutes, and project documents
  • Perform data entry and maintain digital records and databases
  • Prepare and format presentations, spreadsheets, and official communications
  • Assist in managing correspondence and document filing systems
  • Operate office computing equipment and troubleshoot basic IT issues
  • Maintain confidentiality of all project-related documents and communications
  • Support project team with document scanning, printing, and photocopying
  • Manage and update project registers, attendance sheets, and tracking logs
  • Assist in preparing official reports and presentations for meetings
  • Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence in a timely and organized manner

Instructions

  1. The Project positions are purely on Contract basis as per the Project Pay Scale admissible for the PSDP funded Project Staff.
  2. The contract appointment will be initially for one year, extendable on the basis of performance and project continuity.
