The Government of Punjab Aquaculture & Fisheries Department invites applications from suitable candidates for recruitment on contract basis for the position of Senior Aquaculturist. This is a specialized scientific position responsible for developing and implementing advanced aquaculture technologies, fish health management, and research initiatives.

Qualification & Experiences

Educational Qualification:

• PhD / M.Phil / M.Sc. / B.S. in Fisheries & Aquaculture from HEC recognized university
• Minimum 5 years of relevant post-qualification experience

Professional Experience:

• 5 or more years of professional experience in aquaculture research, development, and implementation
• Proven expertise in fish breeding, culture techniques, and aquaculture technology
• Knowledge of sustainable aquaculture practices and fish health management

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement advanced aquaculture technologies and methodologies
• Conduct aquaculture research and field trials for improving fish production
• Provide technical guidance on fish health management and disease prevention
• Monitor water quality and environmental parameters in aquaculture systems
• Conduct training and capacity building for aquaculture farmers
• Collaborate with research institutions on aquaculture projects
• Prepare technical reports and research documentation
• Provide advisory services on sustainable aquaculture practices
• Supervise aquaculture field operations and demonstrations
• Contribute to fisheries policy development based on research findings
