How to Prepare for This Role
The Chief Security Officer (BPS-19) position at MNS University of Agriculture Multan is an administrative contract role requiring an Ex-Military background at the rank of Major or equivalent, a Master's Degree in 2nd Division, and four years of experience in administration, organizational management, or the social and natural sciences. The selection process involves document shortlisting followed by an interview. The four areas below focus on what the selection committee will assess most closely.
The position requires that the applicant be an Ex-Military man not below the rank of Major or equivalent. This is a firm eligibility criterion, and the selection committee will verify it from your military service record and discharge documents before shortlisting. In the interview, be prepared to present your rank, the branch of service, your years of service, and the nature of your duties at the rank of Major or above. Bring your original military service record, discharge certificate, and any commendation letters or performance evaluations from your military career. If you retired at a higher rank, clearly document the rank at the time of discharge. The committee will ask how your military command experience prepares you for leading security operations on a university campus.
Obtain an attested copy of your military discharge certificate and service record well in advance. If your rank is described in non-standard terms (e.g., equivalent civil or paramilitary rank), attach a certificate from the relevant authority confirming its equivalence to the rank of Major in the Pakistan Army, Navy, or Air Force.
The qualification specifically mentions administrative and organizational experience alongside the social and natural sciences. The committee will assess your ability to manage a security department, coordinate with university administration, and handle campus security planning including access control, emergency response, and personnel supervision. In the interview, describe specific instances where you managed teams, implemented security protocols, or coordinated administrative operations in a structured organization. If you have experience in a civilian institution, government body, or security organization after your military service, highlight this as direct evidence of your transition from military to administrative roles. Be ready to explain how you would structure the security setup at a university campus and handle sensitive situations.
If you are currently in service, you must apply through the proper channel and submit a NOC issued by the relevant authority. Annual Confidential Reports (ACRs) and forwarding for the last five years may also be required. Start collecting these documents early as they can take considerable time to obtain from your current employer.
A Master's Degree in 2nd Division from a recognized university is required. The committee will check the division awarded, the university's recognition status, and the subject of your degree. Bring attested copies of your Master's degree, detailed marks certificate, and transcripts. In the interview, you may be asked how your academic background in social sciences, natural sciences, or administration complements your military experience and prepares you for the Chief Security Officer role at an agricultural university. If your degree is in a field that is directly relevant to organizational management, security studies, public administration, or a natural science, be ready to articulate that connection clearly. Candidates with degrees in relevant fields such as public administration, management sciences, sociology, or equivalent disciplines are better positioned to demonstrate the academic grounding required for this role.
Ensure your degree certificate shows the division clearly (2nd Division or above). If your institution uses a GPA or percentage system, attach a conversion note or letter from the institution confirming the division equivalent, so the committee can verify it without ambiguity at shortlisting.
For non-teaching positions, the University requires two complete sets (dossiers), each containing attested copies of all certificates, degrees, testimonials, detailed marks certificates, experience certificates, and the Original Bank Draft of Rs. 5,000/-. Incomplete applications will not be entertained and applications received after the due date will not be accepted under any circumstances. Prepare both dossier sets well in advance of the 22nd July 2026 hard form deadline. Ensure every document is properly attested and arranged in a consistent order in both sets. The online application must be submitted by 20th July 2026, and the hard form dossiers must reach the University by 22nd July 2026. Verify that your Bank Draft is drawn in favour of Treasurer, Muhammad Nawaz Shareef University of Agriculture, Multan, for the exact amount of Rs. 5,000/-.
