Unit Head – Core Banking Application Unit (OG – I / AVP)

National Bank of Pakistan, 'The Nation's Bank', aims to support the financial well-being of the Nation along with enabling sustainable growth and inclusive development through its wide local and international network of branches. The Bank is looking for talented, dedicated and experienced professionals for the position of Unit Head – Core Banking Application Unit (OG – I / AVP) in the area of Financial Control. This is a 3-year contractual position that may be renewed at the discretion of the Management, based at Karachi.

Key Responsibilities

• • Prepare periodic financial statements (monthly, quarterly, and annual) in accordance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements
• • Maintain and update the Chart of Accounts (COA) in line with business and reporting requirements
• • Monitor daily accounting postings and transactions to ensure correctness and timeliness
• • Review and validate accounting entries and system configurations for compliance with policies and standards
• • Review and reconcile General Ledger (GL) balances on a regular basis
• • Support internal and external audit processes by providing required documentation and explanations
• • Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and regulatory requirements
• • Foster a collaborative and results-oriented work environment within the team
• • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to achieve departmental objectives
• • Provide guidance and support to team members where required
• • Perform any other assignment as assigned by the supervisor(s)

Requirements

• ✓ Minimum Graduation or equivalent from a local or international university/college/institute recognized by the HEC of Pakistan
• ✓ CA Inter qualification with article-ship completed
• ✓ ACCA qualification
• ✓ ACMA qualification
• ✓ Minimum 4 years of experience in finance
• ✓ Experience in accounts in a financial institution
• ✓ Experience in accounts in an audit firm
• ✓ Sound understanding of business and financial acumen
• ✓ Excellent business communication skills
• ✓ Report writing and analytical skills
• ✓ Proficiency in MS Excel
• ✓ Proficiency in MS PowerPoint
• ✓ Proficiency in MS Word
• ✓ Basic understanding of Power BI
• ✓ Detail oriented with high level of accuracy
• ✓ Well conversant with relevant regulatory guidelines
